Wolfe Island for Kraft Hockeyville

During the Winter of 2011, Wolfe Island participated in CBC's Kraft Hockeyville competition. Wolfe Islanders put forward their best efforts to win the competition and in turn members of the community showed their hockey spirit by decorating the exterior of their homes and lawn areas with hockey related items and signs. Wolfe Island placed 5th in the competition and received 25,000 dollars in prize money that went to the community's hockey rink. 

Big Sandy Bay Management Area Photos

The pictures above were all captured during the summer of 2011 at the beach area of Big Sandy Bay Management Area on Wolfe Island. This beach area and sensitive dune environment spans roughly 3 kilometers and includes a bird sanctuary. The shoreline is adorned by white sand and has been compared to the white sand found in the Caribbean.

Google Earth Pro Images of Wolfe Island Windfarm

All of these images are of Wolfe Island and were captured using Google Earth Pro. Google Earth features images of Wolfe Island from 2004 whereas, Google Earth Pro uses images from July 2010 (in Marysville area, other parts aren't fully covered).

For those who don't know the area of Wolfe Island it has 86 wind turbines on it. Only Google Earth includes images of the newly constructed windfarm.
